About The Position

The Solutions Architect provides technical leadership for the design, modernization, integration, and long-term viability of business applications and assigned application portfolios. The role translates business outcomes, enterprise technology direction, and security and regulatory requirements into implementable solution architectures. As a trusted technical leader, the architect produces durable architecture artifacts, establishes reusable patterns, challenges incomplete designs, and guides cross-functional teams through decision-making, implementation, operational readiness, and continuous improvement. The position follows a hybrid schedule of one week in the office and one week teleworking. Travel may be required, and occasional support outside normal business hours may be needed for major implementations, incidents, or operationally sensitive changes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in application, solution, systems, integration, infrastructure, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a directly related field.
  • Expert knowledge of application and solution architecture across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, containerized, vendor-hosted, and custom-developed environments, including integrations, APIs, data flows, infrastructure dependencies, monitoring, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with application modernization, technology lifecycle planning, platform migration, technical-debt reduction, implementation, and operational readiness.
  • Ability to translate complex business, security, regulatory, and operational requirements into clear architecture decisions, technical requirements, and actionable plans.
  • Ability to lead through influence, facilitate decisions across diverse stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to create clear, reusable technical artifacts for technical and business audiences.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred disciplines include business, computer engineering, computer science, information systems, and mathematics; other disciplines may be substituted.
  • Relevant architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, software engineering, or project delivery certifications are considered, but are not required with adequate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain application and solution architectures for individual products, groups of products, and assigned application portfolios.
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, data flows, integration and dependency models, decision records, technical roadmaps, standards, patterns, implementation guidance, and runbooks.
  • Lead technical discovery, feasibility studies, proofs of concept, RFx support, vendor evaluation, and architecture due diligence for modernization, platform migrations, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate business, cybersecurity, data protection, regulatory, resiliency, and operational requirements into solution designs and technical requirements.
  • Assess application dependencies, interfaces, infrastructure needs, lifecycle risks, and technology debt; recommend modernization, migration, replacement, or retirement strategies.
  • Guide design and code reviews to ensure technical quality, supportability, security, reliability, performance, and alignment with approved business and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Identify needs for clarification, refinement, or approved exceptions in designs and reviews.
  • Coordinate end-to-end solution readiness across product, IT engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, vendor, and business teams through implementation, transition, stabilization, and operational handoff.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning by defining critical dependencies, recovery requirements, fallback capabilities, and architectural risks.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and communicate technical options, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical teams and business leadership.
