About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to support US Government customers in the Northern Virginia / DC Metro area. This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and the ability to opt into commensurate clearances for government agencies. As a Solutions Architect on the National Security team, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to Intelligence Community customers, acting as the "face of Amazon." You will address complex, mission-critical technical challenges, build sample solutions, "think big," and provide architecture designs and cloud enablement strategies tailored to customer needs. This is a high-visibility role involving collaboration with external stakeholders (government customers) and internal AWS teams (Sales, Platform Engineering). National Security Solutions Architects are recognized as technical "thought leaders" within the Intelligence Community, evangelizing emerging technologies conceptually and architecturally. They have been instrumental in the adoption and advancement of cloud computing within the Intelligence Community, delivering cost-effective, time-saving, and secure solutions. You will solve problems at both business and technical levels, working backward from customer requirements to envision new mechanisms and strategies for agencies to operate more efficiently and achieve their goals. You will be responsible for mission-critical solutions, sometimes with life-saving implications. This position offers the unique opportunity to drive the AWS service roadmap to support customer requirements within the complex technical constraints of the cleared environment. AWS seeks technologists who align with its Leadership Principles, possessing a balance of foundational technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. You will partner with customers, AWS Sales, and other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address Intelligence Community customer business problems and accelerate AWS service adoption. In collaboration with Sales, you will drive revenue growth. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices for cloud solutions and migration. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within the Intelligence Community. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and collaborative, with the ability to connect technology with measurable business value. You should be able to distill customer needs into requirements and articulate technical concepts verbally and in writing. Passion for working with Intelligence Community customers and educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions is essential. This position can have periods of up to 25% travel.
