About The Position

HBK is a growing Top 50 accounting firm and a Top 100 registered investment advisory. They seek capable, dedicated professionals and provide support and resources for career growth within a dynamic team. The firm works with entrepreneurs, owners of small and mid-size businesses, and high-net-worth individuals, acting as consultants and influencers. The Solutions Architect Manager will lead a small team of developers, supporting and evolving mission-critical, SQL-based applications for core accounting, tax, and advisory workflows. This role involves balancing legacy enterprise system stability with thoughtful modernization using Microsoft Azure and emerging AI-enabled development techniques. The ideal candidate must understand the regulatory rigor, data sensitivity, and client impact inherent in a large public accounting firm and lead technology initiatives with a strong risk-aware mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise SQL-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Experience leading small development teams in regulated environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public accounting or professional services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
  • Exposure or strong interest in AI development techniques.
  • Azure certifications or progress toward certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small team of developers, fostering accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide hands-on technical guidance.
  • Manage priorities, delivery commitments, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee on-premises, SQL-based applications supporting accounting and advisory services.
  • Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and auditability.
  • Manage technical debt and support incremental modernization.
  • Lead development of cloud and hybrid solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Support secure integrations between on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Promote best practices for identity, monitoring, and cost management.
  • Encourage responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve productivity and insight.
  • Ensure AI usage aligns with firm governance and compliance standards.
