About The Position

Abnormal AI is launching Identity Threat Protection (ITP), a product combining Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM), an Identity Graph, and Adaptive Identity Reset. This product aims to detect and disrupt multi-stage identity attacks correlated across email, identity providers (Okta, Microsoft Entra), and SaaS. The Identity Specialist is a technical subject matter expert responsible for field credibility for ITP from initial customer engagement through proof of value (PoV) design and execution to customer success handoff. This role is an opportunity for a growing Sales Engineer (SE) with identity domain experience to specialize in a high-visibility, high-growth product. The need for this function is expected to be ongoing, and the role also serves as the primary conduit for structured feedback into the Identity product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of presales/Sales Engineering experience in security, with some direct exposure to identity, IAM, or ITDR or an adjacent space.
  • Working familiarity with Okta and/or Microsoft Entra ID architecture, including authentication flows, MFA, and conditional access.
  • Some experience supporting or running technical PoVs/evaluations.
  • Ability to explain multi-stage identity attack concepts to technical audiences, with support in translating to executive audiences.
  • Comfort operating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing under a fast-moving, pre-GA launch timeline.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at an identity or identity-adjacent vendor (Okta, CrowdStrike, Obsidian, AppOmni, Microsoft).
  • Familiarity with SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM), DSPM, or SecOps/SIEM tooling.
  • Interest in building enablement content.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the 60-minute Identity deep-dive meeting for customers focusing on ITP, ITDR, ISPM, Identity Graph, or Adaptive Identity Reset.
  • Support the PoV motion for Identity/ITDR opportunities alongside senior specialists and the core AE/SE team.
  • Help define and validate PoV success criteria and CARE reports for identity attack scenarios.
  • Partner with Identity product management and engineering to stay current on capability, roadmap, and known gaps.
  • Contribute to the Identity threat library and competitive positioning content.
  • Participate in delivering technical training to SEs, AEs, PSCs, and TAMs as part of the Black Hat enablement curriculum.
  • Surface field feedback (win/loss themes, competitive gaps, capability requests) to senior team members for the product roadmap.
  • Demonstrate comfort using AI tools to accelerate technical research and content creation, including rapidly synthesizing shifting product documentation into field-ready material.
