About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect (SA) for its HealthTech customers, primarily in Ontario and Western Provinces. This role is central to a technology paradigm shift in the Canadian healthcare sector, focusing on building mind-share, establishing customer trust, and nurturing AWS adoption. As an SA, you will own customer technical engagements, working hands-on to design and implement resilient, secure, and high-performing AWS solutions. You will possess both technical and business acumen, enabling you to engage effectively at all organizational levels, from engineers to non-technical executives. Responsibilities include authoring whitepapers and reference architectures, delivering technical webinars, speaking at public events, and potentially filing patents. SAs in this team have experience in the public sector, building secure and compliant solutions, and possess strong communication skills and technical knowledge. They are expected to demonstrate thought leadership in the healthcare sector regarding business, products, and technical challenges, acting as influencers and leaders whom customers are eager to engage with.

Requirements

• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• Experience working in the public sector space, building secure and compliant solutions
• Strong communication skills
• Strong technical knowledge
• Thought-leadership experience in the sector regarding business, products, and technical challenges

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
• Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
• Passionate about designing and guiding cloud architectural builds
• Dedicated to accelerating and scaling innovation, reducing costs and driving efficiency
• Well versed in Canadian Public Sector mandates, security, standards and compliance for designing large-scale cloud computing solutions
• Leading deep-dive education and technology design exercises to create innovative, secure and robust solutions for healthcare organizations and the AWS partners who work with them, including systems integrators and ISVs
• Hands-on, getting into details, and possibly writing demo / proof-of-concept code
• Already broadly capable in architect roles, with plenty of hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Owning technical engagements at all levels
• Removing technical account management barriers
• Defining implementation and transition architectures
• Leading RFI and RFP technical responses
• Helping customers achieve project and overall technical success
• Assisting strategic solution providers with AWS-oriented definitions and implementations
• Developing and delivering presentations, discussions, product demos, sample solutions, blog posts, and white papers
• Working closely with account managers and business developers to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS cloud
• Supporting and promoting AWS consulting and technology partners
• Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at AWS and third-party technology conferences, trade shows and press events
• Capturing and sharing knowledge with the broader AWS Solutions Architecture community
