About the position
ScienceLogic is seeking a Solutions Architect to act as the primary technical interface and onsite subject matter expert for their product line. The role involves collaborating with customers and colleagues from various disciplines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate should have high energy, an innovative spirit, and a strong professional services background with top technology skills. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and customizing solutions for customers, leading design discussions and workshops, assisting in client pre-assessment and post-assessment activities, and contributing to technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical interface and onsite subject matter expert to customers for the ScienceLogic product line
- Be a subject matter expert on SL1 Platform (Classic and Extended Architecture) design, SL1 PowerFlow design, and SL1 Restorepoint design
- Lead design discussions and workshops, including customer facing interaction and collaboration
- Design custom solutions for customers, including custom dynamic applications, custom run book automations, custom dashboard widgets, custom reports, custom integrations, and custom scripts
- Assist in client pre-assessment and post-assessment activities, including discussing the value proposition of ScienceLogic Assessment Services with clients and presenting assessment results to clients
- Innovate the Operational Insights PowerPacks and expand them to cover PowerFlow metrics and configurations
- Manage deployment script and technical documentation, including design documents, assessment results, and requirements checklists
- Use field experience to expand best practices, self-monitoring, and processes and documentation regarding deployment planning, execution, and follow-up
- Possess effective team player qualities and broad technology knowledge for most ScienceLogic products
- Have a bachelor degree in computer science/engineering and proven experience with implementation of enterprise-level network management or application performance products
- Have a thorough understanding of IT infrastructure, application, and enterprise infrastructure best practices
- Have system administration/support experience in Windows and Unix environments with an emphasis on Linux
- Have exceptional troubleshooting and customer-handling skills, be flexible, and willing to learn new technologies
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have 10+ years' experience supporting/using enterprise-class infrastructure monitoring platforms, 5+ years Linux operating system experience, 5+ years MySQL Database experience, 5+ years of experience with SNMP and vendor MIB architecture, and 5+ years of experience configuring SNMP trap and/or Syslog alerts
- Have strong knowledge of PowerShell, WMI, XML/SOAP, and desired experience with PHP, Python, and Linux scripting
- Have experience with ITSM, EMS/NMS Systems (EM7, Solarwinds, IBM NetCool/Tivoli Nagios, HP OpenView or similar), SNMP, and previous integration experience with ServiceNow, PagerDuty, or ITSM platforms is a plus.

- Linux scripting experience desired

- Previous integration experience with ServiceNow, PagerDuty or ITSM platforms is a plus
