About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a full-time, remote Solutions and Lakehouse Architect to help design and build the lakehouse supporting a federal agency’s data products, reporting, and machine learning. The initial work involves owning defined components of the target architecture on Azure Databricks and guiding implementation within the program’s established architecture. The role may evolve across systems, tools, responsibilities, and firm capabilities as client needs change. The architect may design lakehouse components, including medallion layers and Delta Lake storage; extend the agency’s Unity Catalog governance model; develop dimensional and Data Vault data models; connect external sources through Lakehouse Federation; and serve analysts through Databricks SQL and Power BI. The role also documents design decisions and reference patterns and reviews implementations against them. The position requires federal delivery experience and the ability to satisfy applicable suitability, security, and access requirements. Initial engagement terms require U.S. citizenship and prohibit dual citizens and green card holders. The role calls for hands-on Azure Databricks design, data governance and modeling judgment, advanced SQL, working Python and PySpark skills, and the ability to write architecture standards and decisions that teams can follow. The architect is expected to take ownership of outcomes, work within and improve an established architecture, and use AI-assisted development tools responsibly by reviewing and testing their output. The position is a W-2 role with an annual salary of $120,000 to $140,000. Peregrine offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, insurance, a 401(k) match, unlimited paid time off, and sponsored professional certifications and continuing education. Employees work with developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists across strategy and implementation, with onboarding and opportunities for development across assignments and clients.
