The Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under SMIT the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. In order to continually modernize these networks, the Navy and Marine Corps will award project Task Orders onto the SMIT contract. The Solution Manager will lead solution management activities across multiple Product Teams and Agile Release Trains, defining and maintaining the solution vision, roadmap, capability backlog, and delivery priorities. This role serves as the primary interface among business stakeholders, customer representatives, program leadership, architecture teams, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure coordinated execution across infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity domains. The Solution Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, delivery, and operational transition of complex enterprise network services and infrastructure solutions. This role manages projects from initiation through final operational stage, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, mission priorities, business objectives, and enterprise technical roadmaps. Key responsibilities include translating customer and stakeholder requirements into actionable operational plans, user stories, backlogs, schedules, and delivery commitments. The Solution Manager will support Program Increment planning, solution demos, product status reporting, and executive communications while ensuring user stories meet quality standards such as INVEST criteria. The role is accountable for scope, schedule, budget, risks, opportunities, change management, and performance metrics across assigned task order work. This position requires strong leadership in resource planning, dependency management, customer engagement, subcontractor coordination, and cross-functional team execution. The Solution Manager will monitor project economics, staffing needs, operational budgets, risks, and delivery progress; facilitate status reviews; support proposals, bids, estimates, contracts, and schedules; and recommend alternatives when project performance, cost, or schedule issues arise. The Solution Manager is also responsible for ensuring adherence to contractual and legally binding requirements, maintaining alignment with internal and customer-facing solution management practices, and establishing clear paths for ongoing operations, vendor maintenance agreements, decommissioning plans, or follow-on contract efforts. This role requires the ability to build enduring customer relationships, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and coach teams to meet established objectives while resolving technical, operational, and delivery challenges.
