About The Position

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Sr. Solution Engineer to be responsible for providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications to support Farmers Business Insurance processes. Farmers believes in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation, which thrives when we have the ability to work flexibly in a virtual setting as well as the opportunity to be together in person. Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Applicants beyond fifty (50) miles may still be considered. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with occasional travel to headquarters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field of study
7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Senior Software Engineer, Associate Architect, Internet Architect, System Architect, or similar position providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications
7 years of experience working with Pega and related frameworks including CPM, CPMHC, CPMFS, and Decisioning
7 years of experience working with UI/UX capabilities using CSS, HTML, Angular, JavaScript, React, jQuery, and Pega Constellation/Cosmos
7 years of experience working with databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and common integration standards
5 years of experience planning, designing, developing, testing, performance tuning, and data modeling
5 years of experience leading enterprise BPM and application initiatives
5 years of experience managing full SDLC delivery
5 years of experience functioning as a PRPC SME
5 years of experience working in architecture, integration design, production support, and Insurance domain
5 years of experience working with risk management, cross team collaboration, resource planning, stakeholder communication, and ongoing process improvement

Responsibilities

Providing expertise in the design and functionality of business applications
Understanding customers' business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems
Leading multiple solution engineering technical projects across various teams and initiatives
Developing, reviewing, and validating the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements for complex solution
Performing quality review checks on project deliverables
Validating suppliers estimates
Performing impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system
Specifying/recommending integration and parallel testing criteria
Supporting the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues, as required
Overseeing Agile Release Trains to ensure they operate effectively and identify, resolve constraints across the development and delivery processes
Providing a systems level view to guide technology delivery with broader supervisory oversight, ensuring alignment with business objectives
Developing more robust technical designs that ensure scalability and performance
Collaborating with teams to support product roadmaps and resolve issues impacting delivery timelines, including leading technical problem solving efforts for more complex solutions
Contributing primarily to business unit level solutions and participating in enterprise level solution delivery
Engaging in ongoing learning and sharing best practices
Mentoring or training less experienced team members
