About The Position

As a Solution Engineer - Data Security, you will drive data security across every stage of the development lifecycle. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through secure, scalable solution design, influencing technical decisions, and helping accelerate AI applications and agents into development workflows. The role helps customers improve data security, modernize applications using AI, and realize the value of Microsoft's platform.

The position involves driving technical sales and production deployments, leading hands-on customer engagements, and collaborating with developers, platform leads, and product engineering. You will develop recommendations and strategies to improve customers' data security posture, including protecting and governing data across their estates and securing data in AI platforms and applications. The role may be based at multiple locations across the United States and permits working from home up to 50%; travel varies by role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 2 or more years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience; or a master's degree in one of these fields and 1 or more years of such experience; or 3 or more years of such experience; or equivalent experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• 6 or more years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, technology delivery, or related experience, or equivalent experience.
• 4 or more years of experience with cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, or technology management.
• Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines, such as Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, cloud platform technologies, information security, or architecture.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales with decision makers through demonstrations and proofs of concept to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
• Lead hands-on engagements, including hackathons, code-with sessions, and architecture workshops, to accelerate adoption of Microsoft's developer tools and cloud platforms.
• Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions.
• Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with product engineering to share insights and improve products.
• Maintain a deep technical understanding of data security architectures and technologies, including Microsoft Purview.
• Develop strategies and recommendations to improve clients' data security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor Microsoft messaging for data security opportunities.
• Enhance team capabilities for protecting and governing data across the estate and securing data within AI platforms and applications.
• Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in developer communities and customer forums.
• Embody Microsoft's culture and values.
