About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a Solution Engineer to be the primary user interface for the Slack platform within the Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on the Public Sector. This role involves architecting the "Front Door" for citizen services, where humans and AI agents collaborate in real-time. The Solution Engineer will build relationships with executives and technology leaders, sell directly to IT and agency leaders, and own the technical aspects of the sales cycle. The position will showcase how Slack's AI-powered user experience, including Slackbot and Agentforce, enables government teams to work more efficiently and deliver mission-critical services. This role is crucial for defining the next generation of AI-driven user experiences in government, demonstrating the power of Slack, Salesforce, and Agentforce to streamline workflows and improve citizen outcomes.

Requirements

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS
  • Knowledge of related applications, relational database and web technology
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience
  • 4-6 years of sales engineering or solution consulting experience in a SaaS organization
  • Public Sector Savvy: Understanding of the unique security, compliance, and cultural nuances of government agencies.
  • Ability to thrive and adapt to a rapidly evolving product and market that will define the future of work in the public sector

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to drive complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles across Government agencies, addressing challenges in citizen services, public safety, infrastructure, and community engagement.
  • Design Slack-based solutions in collaboration with government agencies to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and citizen outcomes.
  • Evangelize the "Slack-First" strategy to Public Sector CXOs, positioning Slack as the conversational interface for Salesforce and third-party data.
  • Architect and demo Agentic Workflows, demonstrating how AI Agents (Slackbot & Agentforce) can be triggered, managed, and monitored within Slack channels.
  • Scale knowledge by enabling the broader Salesforce Public Sector team on positioning Slack as the primary engagement layer for all Salesforce clouds, embodying "The Power of One".
