About The Position

Software Mind is seeking an architect who excels at winning deals and building offerings, bridging the gap between sales and delivery. This role focuses on presales activities with clients, including discovery, workshops, solution design, and defending architecture and costs to decision-makers. Additionally, the architect will co-own the offering in private cloud and sovereign cloud spaces. This position is not a hands-on engineering role or company-wide governance, but rather sits at the intersection of sales, clients, and delivery, with a specific emphasis on private and sovereign cloud solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Solution Architect / presales architect in IT services or with an infrastructure provider.
  • Real command of private cloud technologies (Virtualization, Storage, Backup, Network, OS, Observability).
  • Experience in transformations and migrations, including VMware exit paths.
  • Ability to run workshops and communicate effectively with business decision-makers, translating technology into cost, risk, and value.
  • Proficiency in Polish and English allowing direct client interaction.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with sovereign cloud platforms (e.g., Scaleway, CloudFerro, STACKIT and similar).
  • Awareness of channel/partner dynamics.
  • Experience with clients in regulated industries (finance, Healthcare).
  • Architecture certifications (cloud, VMware/VCF, OpenStack) as evidence, not as a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery and architecture workshops with enterprise clients, mapping needs to an agreed target.
  • Design solutions (HLD), surface trade-offs, and defend design decisions and costs up to C-level.
  • Support sales by shaping solutions, preparing proposals, providing estimations, and defending the offer.
  • Drive transformations and migrations from an architectural perspective, including cloud exits, modernization, platform-to-platform moves, and sovereign-by-design for clients with regulatory constraints.
  • Co-build and grow the service catalog in private cloud and sovereign cloud.
  • Productize repeatable engagements by turning existing client work into catalog offerings with defined scope, SLA, cost models, and positioning.
  • Build reference architectures, patterns, and reusable presales assets.
  • Develop competitive positioning, including battlecards, 'where we collide' analysis, and value argumentation.

  • International projects with leading global clients
  • International business trips
  • Non-corporate atmosphere
  • Language classes
