About The Position

This role involves working closely with business stakeholders and IT users to refine user stories and business requirements, ensuring that designs and implementations meet business needs. The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and proposing efficient and cost-effective Azure infrastructure and deployment architectures that meet requirements for cost-effectiveness, high-availability, and security. The role also includes resolving production issues within SLAs, managing cloud costs, forecasting future costs, and ensuring the proposed Azure architecture performs within expected standards. Additionally, the Solution Architect will provide technical leadership within a scrum team, manage external consultants and development teams, mentor the team, and guarantee the quality and timely delivery of solutions according to best practices. This position acts as a key point of contact for architectural guidance, gathering technical requirements for global readiness, identifying new technologies, and creating prototypes. The architect will design initial project architectures, including data and software models, ensuring the right tools are used for the job.

Responsibilities

• Work with business, IT users, and stakeholders to refine user stories and business requirements.
• Ensure designs and implementations meet business needs.
• Ask for necessary details to provide clarity and completeness of the functional requirements.
• Design and propose efficient and cost-effective Azure infrastructure necessary to support implementations.
• Propose necessary Azure deployment for the application being developed.
• Make sure the proposed deployment architecture is adequate and will meet the needs for cost-effectiveness, high-availability, and security.
• Resolve and assist with resolution of production issues within established SLAs.
• Assist with resolution of production issues and service interruptions given in-depth knowledge.
• Own the resolution on the technical side and involve necessary human resource to restore the service, focusing on minimizing impact for the business.
• Manage cloud cost and proactively monitor usage to ensure environment performs within previously established budget.
• Develop estimates based on existing requirements and forecast future cost based on new demand.
• Make sure the proposed Azure architecture performs within expected standards.
• Make sure the proposed Azure architecture is cost-effective and properly sized.
• Utilize JIRA Agile Scrum methodology.
• Use Jira and source control for project management tasks.
• Participate in all scrum activities and ceremonies.
• Provide technical leadership within the scrum team.
• Oversee and manage external consultants related to development and collaborate with off-site support teams.
• Drive development teams comprised of external contractors.
• Mentor and oversee work of the development team.
• Guarantee the team performs and delivers on time, budget, and scope.
• Guarantee quality of the solution and adherence to best practices.
• Conduct regular code reviews.
• Act as the point of contact between TaylorMade headquarters, IT teams in our core markets, and business teams.
• Participate in meetings with regions and business users to provide architectural guidance.
• Gather technical requirements and make sure solution is global-ready.
• Identify applicable new technologies through research, collaboration with peers, and participation in standards organizations, industry groups, and panels.
• Stay abreast with new technologies and apply to solve real-life demand.
• Create prototypes to prove concepts and illustrate the solution to business users.
• Design and propose architectures, including data model and software architectures, in the initial phases of a project.
• Make sure we use the right tool for the right job.
