About The Position

As a Bluewave Solution Advisor in our Cloud and Infrastructure practice, you are a senior-level individual contributor and trusted advisor who helps clients assess, plan, and adopt cloud and infrastructure solutions that improve business agility, resilience, operational efficiency, and financial performance. You partner with Client Advisory, Client Success, Delivery, technology providers, and other Solution Advisors to lead discovery, shape opportunity strategy, design practical solutions, evaluate providers, and support engagements from early qualification through close. You can translate complex infrastructure and cloud environments into clear business recommendations and executable roadmaps for technical and executive stakeholders. You earn trust through disciplined discovery, balanced recommendations, strong commercial judgment, clear communication, and consistent follow-through from initial opportunity through solution transition. Success means helping clients make confident, well-informed decisions while creating durable value for Bluewave. The role requires broad advisory knowledge across the following areas, in descending order of importance: Private Cloud, Public Cloud, MSP Managed Services, Microsoft and SaaS Licensing, Data Center and Colocation, Information Security.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of private cloud architectures and operating models, including virtualization, hyperconverged and software-defined infrastructure, automation, orchestration, and platform operations. Ability to advise on modernization, capacity, availability, performance, lifecycle management, and hybrid integration, with an understanding of the trade-offs among private cloud, public cloud, and traditional on-premises infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of public cloud infrastructure, platform, storage, networking, identity, governance, resiliency, and migration. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud, as well as hybrid and multi-cloud patterns, workload placement, cloud migration, cloud operations, governance, repatriation, FinOps fundamentals, and shared-responsibility models.
• Practical understanding of MSP managed services, including managed infrastructure, managed cloud, backup and disaster recovery, monitoring, service desk, network, and security service models. Ability to compare fully managed, co-managed, and customer-operated models, including responsibilities, service levels, escalation paths, transition requirements, onboarding, steady-state operations, continuous improvement, and recurring-revenue constructs.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft licensing and subscription constructs relevant to cloud and infrastructure decisions, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, and related programs. Familiarity with SaaS procurement and lifecycle considerations, and the ability to connect licensing recommendations to compliance, renewals, usage, security, data ownership, vendor management, and broader business outcomes.
• Understanding of data center and colocation models, including facilities, power, cooling, connectivity, physical security, cross-connects, redundancy, remote hands, and support responsibilities. Ability to advise on strategy, consolidation, relocation, hybrid deployments, edge requirements, disaster recovery, workload placement, and the operational and financial trade-offs among owned facilities, colocation, hosted infrastructure, private cloud, and public cloud.
• Strong understanding of information security fundamentals, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, defense in depth, zero trust concepts, identity, and shared responsibility in cloud. Practical knowledge of network and cloud security, SASE and ZTNA, firewalls, segmentation, DDoS, web application and API security, SSO, MFA, IAM, PAM, endpoint security, SOC, SIEM, XDR, MDR, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Ability to identify meaningful security considerations and improvement paths without needing to operate as a security analyst or hands-on engineer.
• Experience supporting or working within Sales, Channel, technology advisory, distribution, or partner ecosystems.
• Ability to understand contract constructs, OpEx and CapEx trade-offs, recurring revenue, consumption models, service margins, and total cost of ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead discovery workshops, whiteboarding sessions, assessments, and executive readouts with mixed technical and business audiences.
• Strong synthesis and storytelling skills, turning complex or incomplete inputs into clear options, recommendations, roadmaps, and decisions.
• Credible communication with CIO, CTO, CISO, VP Infrastructure, and IT leadership audiences; able to explain technical concepts in concise, non-jargon language.
• Strong written deliverable skills, including executive summaries, assessment reports, solution briefs, decision decks, comparison matrices, and roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ownership, judgment, and seniority in managing multiple concurrent opportunities and knowing when to engage specialists.
• Collaborative, low-ego mindset aligned with Bluewave’s Assess → Advise → Advocate model and culture.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years in a cloud, infrastructure, managed services, technology advisory, solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or related customer-facing role.
• Experience designing, evaluating, implementing, or selling hybrid infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Experience with MSPs, technology service distributors, data center or colocation providers, Microsoft partners, SaaS providers, or security providers.
• Experience building TCO, ROI, business case, or licensing optimization models.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications are a plus, such as Microsoft, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, FinOps, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or vendor-specific credentials.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
• Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured discovery with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, IT leaders, infrastructure teams, finance stakeholders, and business owners.
• Understand business objectives, operating models, risk tolerance, technical constraints, service expectations, and financial priorities.
• Assess current-state infrastructure, cloud adoption, operating processes, provider relationships, licensing posture, and resiliency capabilities at a conceptual level.
• Identify gaps and opportunities across private cloud, public cloud, managed services, licensing, data center, colocation, and information security.
• Translate findings into prioritized requirements, decision criteria, business cases, and practical next steps.
• Build trusted-advisor relationships by framing recommendations around outcomes, risk, cost, and operational impact rather than products alone.
• Design high-level future-state roadmaps spanning private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud, managed infrastructure, data center, colocation, licensing, and security.
• Create clear current-state to future-state narratives, migration approaches, and phased roadmaps.
• Recommend operating models that appropriately balance customer-managed, co-managed, and fully managed responsibilities.
• Consider availability, performance, scalability, resiliency, security, compliance, data residency, integration, supportability, and total cost of ownership.
• Partner with provider subject-matter experts to validate that recommendations are technically credible, operationally practical, and commercially viable.
• Support solution transitions by documenting assumptions, dependencies, risks, responsibilities, and success measures.
• Maintain working knowledge of relevant cloud platforms, infrastructure providers, MSPs, data center and colocation providers, Microsoft programs, SaaS vendors, and security providers.
• Build objective provider comparison matrices and shortlists that clearly communicate capabilities, limitations, requirements fit, service quality, support models, commercial constructs, and total cost of ownership.
• Evaluate alternatives across private cloud, public cloud, managed services, Microsoft and SaaS licensing, data center and colocation, and information security.
• Translate provider capabilities and licensing models into business implications that are understandable to both technical and non-technical decision-makers.
• Serve as a primary Cloud and Infrastructure subject-matter resource on qualified pursuits from early qualification through close.
• Partner with Client Advisory to shape opportunity strategy, discovery plans, solution positioning, and executive engagement.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, whiteboarding sessions, presentations, and executive briefings.
• Develop solution briefs, assessment outputs, decision-support materials, statements of work inputs, high-level service structures, TCO and ROI models, and executive summaries.
• Address objections, trade-offs, risks, and competitive considerations with clear, business-oriented recommendations.
• Help Sales and clients understand the value of Bluewave’s Assess → Advise → Advocate approach.
• Help refine Bluewave’s Cloud and Infrastructure practice, including assessment approaches, discovery questionnaires, sales plays, reference architectures, templates, and repeatable collateral.
• Help clearly define and optimize opportunity paths to revenue.
• Track market and provider trends across cloud, infrastructure, managed services, Microsoft licensing, SaaS, data center, colocation, and security.
• Share practical insights, emerging patterns, and lessons learned with Client Advisory, Solution Advisory, Client Success, Delivery, and partner teams.
• Deliver internal enablement on how to qualify, position, and advance Cloud and Infrastructure opportunities.
• Contribute to customer-facing thought leadership, decision frameworks, best-practice guidance, and advisory content.
• Own a personal portfolio of Cloud and Infrastructure opportunities, operating independently on strategy and execution while engaging practice leaders when appropriate.
• Contribute to practice-level pipeline, bookings, and recurring-revenue goals.
• Support the creation and closure of cloud, infrastructure, managed services, licensing, data center, colocation, and security opportunities.
• Maintain accurate, timely updates in CRM and related tools to support forecasting, pipeline visibility, and performance tracking.
