About The Position

Konik is partnering with G&R Custom Elevator Cabs, a growing custom manufacturing company specializing in high-quality fabricated products, seeking a SolidWorks Manufacturing Drafter to join their engineering and design team. This role supports the creation of accurate manufacturing drawings used for custom fabrication projects and works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and customers to ensure projects are production-ready. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on drafter with strong SolidWorks experience who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working closely with manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with fabrication environments, and the ability to identify potential issues before they reach the shop floor. As the engineering/design team continues to evolve, this position offers the opportunity to grow into a Lead or leadership role over time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent SolidWorks drafting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience creating production-ready drawings and shop documentation.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand fabrication processes and manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before they impact production.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication.
  • Background in custom manufacturing, architectural fabrication, elevator manufacturing, or similar industries.
  • Experience supporting projects from design through fabrication.
  • Interest in growing into a Lead Drafter or technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings, shop drawings, and production documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Identify dimensional conflicts, missing information, and potential fabrication issues before production.
  • Develop and maintain accurate drawings, revisions, material details, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and internal teams to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with material selection, fabrication details, and design improvements.
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve drawing questions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to drafting processes, drawing quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
