About The Position

The purpose of your role as a CAD Operator is to operate all computer aided design (CAD) systems and peripheral equipment, including using SolidWorks. You will exercise considerable skill in the use of graphics commands and preprogrammed material to develop drawings for equipment, sheet metal, and piping. This role involves creating quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation, specifying and purchasing materials for projects, and performing routine to complex assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques. You will develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity, and learn how to use all software options. The role also requires analyzing sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach to complete drawings, applying judgment and making decisions with respect to drawings and input interpretation, and reviewing work performed to determine accuracy with input from a supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of SolidWorks experience in manufacturing industry
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Proven math, accuracy and detail-orientation skills
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conveyors design preferred
  • Auto CAD experience preferred, not required.
