About The Position

Reporting to the Branch Manager, Solids Control Technicians are responsible for the set up/tear down, general maintenance, and troubleshooting of the centrifuges and related rental equipment. Technicians are also responsible for completing all associated paperwork such as work orders and timesheets. This position will be focusing on solids control support for various projects throughout western Canada which may include sit-in work on a scheduled rotation. This position is fulltime permanent and will be based out of our Lloydminster location.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Solids Control (centrifuge, dewatering, barite recovery) and/or Derrickhand experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required with previous drillsite experience
  • A valid class 5 driver's license
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for getting themselves to and from site
  • Have a dedication to providing excellent customer service and contributing to a safe work environment

Responsibilities

  • The Solids Control Technician is responsible for solids control on active sites. This also includes the understanding and operation of solids control equipment and its functions in: solids management, optimization, dewatering, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Responsible for performing a combination of routine and complex equipment operation, preventative maintenance and manual labor, which may include some instruction to others.
  • Ensures that all equipment and systems are being operated to Total Oilfield Rentals standards.
  • Ensures that required documentation is legible, accurate and completed on a timely basis daily.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to processes and systems.
  • Performs troubleshooting and repair activities as needed.
  • Regularly attends and actively participates in safety meetings, identifies any safety concerns to supervisor, reports all incidents and assists in investigations.
  • Performs mechanical and or equipment maintenance as required and/or assigned.
  • Maintains safe and clean equipment and general work area.
  • Acquires and maintains all certifications as required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks safely and duties include but not limited to shoveling, moving equipment, tank cleaning and housekeeping requirements.
  • Occasionally assist with mentoring new employees.
