About The Position

The Solids Control Operator is responsible for completing solids control rig-ups, rig-downs, troubleshooting, and minor repairs. This role involves performing solids control analysis of equipment, as well as electrical rig-ups, rig-downs, and minor repairs. The operator must possess satisfactory knowledge of Solids Control and Vacuum Unit jobs, follow proper sampling procedures, and complete daily reports. Communication with customers, supervisors, and co-workers is essential, along with maintaining satisfactory rig etiquette and a professional attitude. The position may require training other employees and traveling outside the hiring region. A satisfactory driving record is mandatory, and the operator must be willing to complete general labor tasks as needed. Attaining and maintaining NOV WSS Core Training is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Experience in the solids control field or similar mechanical experience, to be able to identify potential mechanical problems
  • Possess a satisfactory driving record
  • Must be able to pass background check, pre-placement physical, pulmonary function/FIT test, and substance abuse testing
  • Must be able to operate or be trained to operate heavy equipment such as a track hoe/back hoe in a safe manner
  • Must be able to operate or be trained to operate existing solids control line of equipment and or any new solids control technology introduced to the market

Responsibilities

  • Complete Solids Control rig-ups, rig-downs, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
  • Perform Solids Control Analysis of the equipment
  • Perform electrical rig-ups, rig downs, and minor repairs
  • Possess satisfactory knowledge of Solids Control and Vacuum Unit jobs
  • Follow the proper sampling procedure
  • Complete daily reports and communicate with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Possess satisfactory rig etiquette and maintain a professional attitude
  • Train other employees and travel outside the hiring region when needed
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record per NOV's Driver Policy
  • Demonstrate a willingness to complete general labor tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor
  • Attain the necessary NOV WSS Core Training and maintain annual refresher training
