Requirements

High School diploma / GED or equivalent
5+ years of experience operating vehicles that require a commercial driver's license Class A or B
Specific sections may require additional endorsements
Fork Lift Operator's License might be required in some operations
1+ years operating vehicles that require a commercial driver's license
Must maintain reliable attendance and dependable communication contact information
Must obtain and maintain a Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 180 days of employment

Nice To Haves

Solid waste collection experience (i.e., refuse, recycling, etc.)

Responsibilities

Operate and drive rear-loading solid waste collection trucks safely and efficiently
Collect refuse, recycling, bulk waste, and uncontained materials from residential service areas
Follow written and route-based collection schedules and procedures
Use two-way radios and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Complete daily surveys, vehicle inspections, and operational documentation
Cross-train and assist with additional duties within Special Services Operations as needed
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with residents and the public
Maintain safe work practices while working outdoors and around heavy equipment
