Beltrami County is hiring a temporary Solid Waste Operations Specialist I. This is a full-time, benefited position governed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #49, with the assignment scheduled to continue through July 31, 2027. Responsibilities include assisting the public by directing traffic to the appropriate sites for disposal of waste, inspecting loads for regulatory compliance, operating forklift, skid steer, telehandler, sorting waste, facility and equipment maintenance, and related work. Ensures all Beltrami County owned and operated Solid Waste Facilities are operating per the MPCA Permit. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned Solid Waste facility, vehicles, and equipment. Coordinates all activities with the public daily at assigned facility to assist in the proper disposal of Solid Waste within Beltrami County. Maintains all facilities, vehicles, grounds, and equipment.
