The Solid Waste Manager provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the City of Loveland’s comprehensive, enterprise-funded solid waste system. This position plans, directs, and continuously improves curbside trash, recycling, and seasonal yard-waste collection; multifamily and special collection services; dumpster and roll-off programs; and operations at the Loveland Recycling Center and Household Cleanup Program. The manager develops employees, promotes a strong safety culture, budgets, rates, contracts, facilities, equipment, regulatory compliance, and capital planning. Working collaboratively across the City and with customers, contractors, regulators, and regional partners, the manager uses data, education, technology, and industry best practices to provide reliable and financially sustainable services, increase waste diversion, and build upon Loveland’s position as a statewide leader in residential recycling. The City of Loveland is hiring a dynamic and experienced Solid Waste Manager to lead the number one residential recycling program in Colorado with excellence in both operational and collaborative functions. As a key member of the Public Works leadership team, the Solid Waste Manager reports directly to the Public Works Director and works closely with stakeholders across the organization and the community to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional service.
