About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory needs Solicitation and Peer Review Specialists to advance the nation's nuclear energy leadership by managing high-impact solicitations that fuel breakthroughs at universities, national labs, and industry partners, with work at the forefront of growing technological edge supporting projects that drive innovation in advanced materials, grid modernization, and space nuclear systems. You'll develop funding opportunities and strategy for important aspects, work with the Department of Energy for contract management, eligibility questions, and documentation questions from external applicants, perform initial compliance reviews for funding opportunity and data analysis compiling reviews, and recruit peer reviewers by reading proposals and finding the best experts to review while managing the peer review process, hosting review panels, and reviewing feedback to peer reviewers. Your responsibilities include compiling final recommendation documentation for the Department of Energy, interfacing with internal and external partners for developing funding opportunity documents, providing strategic recommendations to managers and other partners, communicating funding opportunities to internal and external individuals including developing and presenting slides and acting as point of contact for questions, and performing complex work tasks with little or no direction based on in-depth knowledge of program elements and contracting principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and management in database systems such as FedConnect, Portfolio Analysis and Management System (PAMS), Grants. Gov, PICS, or similar systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working directly with DOE.
  • Knowledge of nuclear science and engineering topics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop funding opportunities and strategy for important aspects.
