About The Position

Under the supervision of the production supervisor of the solder department, this role involves using a soldering iron to solder wires onto a variety of components. The position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work for extended periods in a seated position with arms at shoulder level.

Requirements

• Able to distinguish colors.
• Able to read small print and read a ruler.
• Have excellent manual dexterity.
• Grasp a soldering iron and hold solder for eight (8) or more hours per day.
• Sit for eight (8) or more hours per day.
• Able to lift and carry 25 lbs. on a repeated basis.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
• Have the ability to work with arms at shoulder level for extended periods of time.
• Ability to Bend head and neck at an angle to view through a halo light or scope to solder very small components.

Nice To Haves

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Assembly Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
• Mechanical Knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Bend wires and mechanically attach to components.
• Tin the wire.
• Read instruction sheets.
• Call for In Process Inspection when applicable.
• Fill out traveler paperwork.
• Make suggestions on improving the processes.
• Solder wire.
• Remove solder and rework.
• Hand strip as required.
• Perform special assignments and other duties as required.
