About The Position

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) is seeking a 1st Shift Solder Assembler for their Clarksburg, MD Campus. This role reports to the Manager of Manufacturing, with first shift hours from 5:00 am to 2:30 pm. TDSI has a long history of serving defense domains and is committed to providing critical communication, visualization, and sensor capabilities. Lives depend on the quality of work performed.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
• 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with electronic assemblies, and surface mount assemblies.
• Ability to solder on most products in the factory.
• Able to interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
• Computer Skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365; SuccessFactors experience a plus.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

• SuccessFactors experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow printed work instructions.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams and building assembly drawing along with MWI.
• Handle small precision tools, hardware, etc.
• Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
• Interpret IPC-A-620 standards, where applicable.
• Keep team lead informed of assembly issues.
• Maintain a neat appearance in their work area and follow FOD compliance.
• Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
