About The Position

As a Service Technician, your job duties will include, but are not limited to, maintenance of PV solar components, commissioning necessary parts, completing repairs when necessary, performing technical corrective maintenance, electrical wiring and testing, and more. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has knowledge and experience with technical and electrical maintenance.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old of age
  • 2 Years experience with Enphase battery & Tesla Powerwall
  • Must have 2 Years of Solar experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to add or remove panels on solar systems
  • Able to identify/isolate roof leaks
  • Ability to repair all types of Roofs as well as Ground Mounts if needed
  • Able to read and understand plans, blueprints and CAD
  • Ability to understand or have experience with all AHJ guidelines within region
  • Ability to troubleshoot an inverter that is reporting production loss
  • Ability to understand or have experience with all types of Solar Equipment (Enphase & Powerwall)
  • Travel 100%
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements (This role requires a valid Driver’s License and clean MVR to drive a company vehicle.)
  • Ability to withstand heights, be on roofs, and climb ladders (Daily)
  • Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs. routinely (Daily)
  • Ability to work in -0-100+ degree weather, as well as in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to move around for prolonged periods. standing, kneeling, bending, Squat and climbing ladders (Daily)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the commissioning of the solar array and monitoring systems during project installation when needed
  • Respond to corrective maintenance cases on PV inverters, string boxes and solar panels. This includes troubleshooting, testing, and repairing activities
  • Troubleshooting Solar (String Inverters, Optimizers and AC Microinverter Systems)
  • Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters, string boxes and solar panels and other components
  • Ensure that PV systems are setup correctly
  • Ability to understand or have experience in Electrical Panels including Sub Panels (MBD derate, conduit bending, relocating circuits, etc.)
  • Perform commissioning of inverters and inspection of solar panels
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Perform voltage testing using appropriate PPE and procedures
  • Prepare reports, if needed to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts
  • Help in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by manager with minimal supervision
