About The Position

Citadel Roofing and Solar is seeking a Solar Service Technician to join their growing Solar Operations team. This position is based out of their Vacaville offices, with travel required to projects throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area. The role involves supporting the service department in providing excellent customer service and support across a broad range of needs, including equipment replacement, system inspections, monitoring setup, and troubleshooting/repairs of PV systems and batteries.

Requirements

1 – 3 years of previous experience in solar or general construction preferred
High School diploma
Organized and self-motivated, able to learn quickly and work well in a team environment
Familiarity with PV plan sets preferred
Punctual with appointments and deadlines
Able to grasp technical concepts and communicate them in an effective manner
Strong computer skills
Ability to work in extreme environments (e.g., hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)
Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
Familiar with OSHA safety rules preferred
Excellent customer service skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Must be able to learn quickly and work well in a team environment
Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required
Must have a valid state driver’s license
Must have a clean driving record (e.g., no DUI in the last 5 years)
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
Solar and or battery installations: 2 years
High school or equivalent
Driver's License

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Fronius, SMA, Enphase and Solar Edge inverters as well as Tesla, Franklin and Enphase batteries.
Familiarity with PV plan sets
Familiar with OSHA safety rules

Responsibilities

Replace old solar equipment with new equipment, including Fronius, SMA, Enphase, and Solar Edge inverters, as well as Tesla, Franklin, and Enphase batteries.
Perform detailed inspections of older systems and collect data such as serial numbers and defects for third-party partners.
Set up monitoring on new systems to support operations and introduce the service department.
Be available and willing to assist operations and sales to ensure a positive customer experience.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with PV systems and batteries without supervision, on both residential and commercial systems.
