About The Position
ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. The Solar Installer assembles, installs, and maintains residential solar PV systems. Work takes place outdoors, primarily on rooftops, and may also involve attics and crawl spaces when connecting panels to the electrical grid. Installers work as part of a team alongside technicians and electricians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals.
- Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
- Ability to use ION technology, including smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, and SalesForce.
- Ability to work at great heights.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical school training.
- Experience in solar, roofing, or construction.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install solar panels on roofs.
- Configure PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations, and connect panels to the power grid.
- Maintain quality assurance and quality control, with an emphasis on crew safety.
- Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
- Ensure equipment is weather-sealed.
- Perform routine maintenance on PV systems.
- Assist the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
