About The Position

This position is based at the Genesis Solar plant in Blythe, California, within NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division. The role is responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned solar field and solar collection assemblies to support safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. The technician inspects solar field equipment and troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues in solar collection assemblies and LOC boxes, using a PCE/laptop computer and relevant test equipment. Daily inspections identify fluid-system breaches, damaged or misaligned mechanical components, reflective panel damage, and electrical failures that may prevent collectors from tracking or producing power for the grid. The position also requires maintaining tools, fleet vehicles, shops, and work locations, and traveling to other sites as needed. Other job-related duties may be assigned by the Team Leader.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience.
Valid non-CDL driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain assigned solar fields and solar collection assemblies.
Inspect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment in the solar field and pipeline.
Perform daily inspections for fluid-system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, reflective panel damage, and electrical component failures.
Identify failures that prevent collectors or groups of collectors from tracking or producing power.
Maintain tools, shops, assigned fleet vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition.
Travel to other sites as required.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
