About The Position

CTL Engineering is hiring for a Lab Technician / Geologist for our Soils Lab. This role is open to entry-level/new grads in Geology as well as experienced Geologists. CTL Engineering is an award-winning, full-service consulting engineering firm with 15 locations across OH, IN, WV, KY, NC, SC, and VA, and a history of 99 years in business. We offer a wide range of services including civil/site design, land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry. This role will initially report to our Soils Lab located on Fisher Rd (west Columbus), with an estimated relocation to our new Corporate HQ in New Albany in late 2026/early 2027. Requirements

Geologist (or training in this discipline) is a strong plus, but is not required.
Entry level/new grads in Geology are encouraged to apply!
Experience in laboratory analysis and soil sample collecting.

Responsibilities

Performs various laboratory tests to determine soil properties, such as particle size distribution, compaction, and strength.
Accurately records test results and prepares reports, ensuring clarity and completeness.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
Adheres to strict safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory environment.
Collaborates with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to provide relevant soil information.
