About The Position

Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry-Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Salt Lake City, UT. You will have the opportunity to join a team in Utah that prioritizes mentorship and your professional growth. The team is committed to supporting your success and providing guidance as you navigate your role. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 50% to 75% of their time in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated

  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely
  • Adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
  • Current MSHA 40-hour surface and underground

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing geotechnical and hydrology instrumentation installation oversight and troubleshooting, environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks, geochemistry laboratory and research and development (R&D) experiment assistance.
  • Conducting fieldwork including, but not limited to: site inspections; drilling/well installation oversight; soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field; and operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, work plan development, technical report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant project work.
  • Supporting National emergency response teams to ensure rapid protection of human health and the environment.
