About The Position

NOVO Health Services offers linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, focusing on safety and infection control. They provide partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization to eliminate excess costs. NOVO's service programs offer a seamless, single-source distribution system, and their regional facilities are HLAC accredited, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and processes. This role is for a Soiled Linen Separator at their Atlanta Healthcare Laundry facility. The ideal candidate is confident in decision-making, acts quickly, and possesses excellent communication skills, with a commitment to measurable performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Education, GED and formal education / training preferred.
  • Good analytical skills to be able to determine number of carts required for orders.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industry
  • Ability to work in a noisy fast paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from machine for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds.
  • Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
  • Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
  • Constant pushing/pulling of laundry carts with weights of 250 lbs. is common with some cart weights exceeding 600 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Separate, fold, and properly distribute clean linen.
  • Inspect clean linen to ensure all quality standards have been met.
  • Pouch and label sterile product utilizing the heat-sealing machine.
  • Work within established productivity and quality standards.
  • Make recommendations to facility management for methods of improvement.
  • Mentor and train fellow associates after mastery of tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Keep workstation neat and clean.
  • Other duties as assigned.
