About The Position

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Software Verification & Validation Engineer to join our team in Mossville, IL. This position provides hands-on experience in both Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) verification and validation for embedded control systems. The engineer will work with dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink, automation frameworks, and production software, gaining exposure to the complete virtual validation lifecycle while helping expand HIL and SIL verification and validation capacity to meet program milestones and quality objectives. The role involves developing, executing, and maintaining validation tests for embedded control software, automating tests, investigating issues, and collaborating with various engineering teams. The work environment is primarily onsite in Mossville, IL, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting focused on delivering high-quality software.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field required.
Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience.
HIL/SIL Validation & Testing experience.
Experience with dSPACE toolchain & MATLAB/Simulink.
Experience with Python, gtest, C++.
Experience with Automation & Embedded Software Verification.
Experience with CAN/J1939 communication protocols and Vector tools (CANoe/CANalyzer) for embedded systems testing and diagnostics.
Experience in ECU integration, system-level verification, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle, version control, and test automation framework development.
Ability to read electrical schematics, perform hardware setup, and troubleshoot HIL/SIL test environments.
Familiarity with diagnostics, fault injection, and validation reporting tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across software, controls, and validation teams.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with a continuous learning mindset.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and maintain validation tests for embedded control software using dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink, and automation tools.
Work closely with software developers, controls engineers, system integration engineers, and verification & validation team members on a daily basis.
Participate in technical discussions, defect reviews, and validation planning activities.
Support virtual validation, SIL, and HIL testing for embedded control systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across software, controls, and product groups.
Perform HIL/SIL test development and execution.
Engage in test automation and scripting.
Conduct issue investigation and debugging.
Participate in team collaboration, reviews, and planning.
