About The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Software Validation Test Lead to spearhead testing initiatives and mentor fellow engineers within our Patriot Software Team in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. In this role, you will not only design, implement, and execute tests, but also take on critical leadership responsibilities such as test planning, guiding the team, leading improvements, and reporting on progress. You will collaborate closely with software developers, system architects, and product leads to ensure our solutions align with customer requirements. Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system, and we are currently developing software in support of new system capabilities. Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
Proven leadership experience in a testing environment, including creating effective test plans, providing meaningful status updates, and guiding technical teams.
Extensive experience in software engineering, validation, verification, requirements analysis, and/or testing.
The ability to obtain and maintain an interim secret U.S. security clearance prior to the start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Active Secret security clearance.
Familiarity with Patriot software and Patriot-specific processes and tools.
Knowledge of software testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression, performance, etc.) and best practices.
Demonstrated expertise in creating detailed test plans and leading test efforts for complex projects.
Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools.
Proficiency with DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System) or similar requirements traceability tools.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address technical issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead, mentor, and report to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Guide testing activities for a functional area, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Contribute to comprehensive test plans that outline strategies, objectives, and timelines for successful testing.
Support junior engineers by sharing expertise, providing training, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Partner with developers, system architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integration and functionality.
Regularly communicate progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
Analyze and verify software requirements for clarity, completeness, and testability.
Define clear and concise test objectives that guide the testing process and ensure thorough coverage.
Create innovative test cases (manual and automated) and execute them rigorously in our on-site lab.
Analyze test results, identify discrepancies, and provide clear documentation and recommendations for improvement.
Conduct testing during second or third shifts, as needed.
