About The Position

SAIC is hiring a Software Tester to support the DEVCOM AvMC at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, under the Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation and Missile Center. The role focuses on testing web-based applications, validating software behavior against requirements, documenting and tracking defects, and collaborating with development and product teams in an Agile environment. The tester will also support help desk investigations and test automation initiatives where applicable.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree and zero years of experience, or six years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
Active Secret Security Clearance required to start.
Experience performing software testing for web applications.
Familiarity with Agile software development environments.
Experience with test management or issue-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TFS.
Understanding of C# and .NET Framework/.NET 8+ environments sufficient to test functionality.
Ability to write clear, repeatable test cases and evaluate software behavior against requirements.
Basic understanding of SQL for test data validation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desire to continually improve testing processes, tools, and personal skillset.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Document test results, track defects, and verify resolutions in collaboration with developers.
Document defects clearly and track them through resolution.
Validate data integrations with SQL databases.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other testers during sprint activities.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Update test-related tasks and statuses on the sprint board.
Support help desk investigations by reproducing and documenting reported issues.
Support test automation initiatives where applicable.
