About The Position

GDIT is seeking a talented Software Tester who is passionate about technology and software applications. This individual must be motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact some of GDIT’s most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country. The work you’ll do will be impactful to the mission of our NYS customer. You will play a crucial role as you join our team in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to more than 7.0 million New Yorkers through its Health Benefit Exchange (HBE). GDIT’s Summer Internship Program is designed with you in mind! Our internship provides you with the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team that is helping to solve our clients’ most challenging matters. Throughout GDIT’s 10-week Summer Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with GDIT professionals delivering work for clients, collaborate with a team of peers to research and propose solutions to a current business challenge, participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion, interact with GDIT leaders, and participate in professional development.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field from a United States-based college or university.
  • Core languages and Object-Oriented programming coursework including a minimum of one Java course
  • System Design, Data Structure, Application Framework, and Web Development course work.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • 0 + years of related experience
  • Java
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Web Development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Testing methodologies (unit, integration, system testing)
  • Familiarity with tools/concepts like Git version control, SQL databases, Testing and Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing integration and system-level test plans
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing
  • Document test cases, procedures, and results clearly and accurately
  • Identify, log, and help troubleshoot defects and inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with others to resolve issues
  • Support automation efforts using scripting or testing tools
  • Analyze test data and provide reports with recommendations
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Supports the completion of technical tasks
  • Assists with the coordination for new products
  • Assists with documentation for processes and procedures
