About The Position

The Core Platform group is responsible for providing the mission critical components powering Genetec’s premier products. Strong software security, high system availability at scale, data loss prevention and backward/forward compatibility are our focus. We are multi-disciplinary teams organized around Kanban agile methodology. We are currently looking for a strong Software Test Specialist who has great interest in backend testing of large scale applications. The kind of person who thrives in a complex, challenging and constantly changing environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in PC configuration and troubleshooting of various Operating Systems
• Competency in written and verbal communication (English and French)
• Competency in test planning and design, documentation of test scenarios and execution of software in a multilevel environment
• Motivated person who pays attention to detail, likes teamwork, has solid communication skills and can work simultaneously on many projects
• Solid analytical experience and/or a desire for detail work and great troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform performance analysis and monitoring of large distributed systems using tools like Perfmon, Telegraph, Grafana
• Excellent knowledge of Windows and Windows Server
• Good knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
• Knowledge of test methodologies
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of PowerShell and or other scripting language
• Knowledge of container technologies like Docker
• Knowledge or virtualisation technologies like VMWare
• Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Support or System Administrator role
• Knowledge in C# and .NET
• Knowledge of Software Security

Responsibilities

• Validation of Genetec’s flagship product Security Center new and existing functionalities, a unified platform responsible for the physical security (IP video, access control and license plate recognition) of small to large organisations using a Kanban and DevOps approach
• Plan, oversee and execute testing to confirm quality conformance to specifications/requirements and quality deliverables
• Perform various type of tests: functional, integration, system, regression, performance and scale
• Analyze, document and follow up the defects identified
• Participate in the software delivery process
• Participate in the development and improvement of test standards
• Collaborate with the development teams and provide input from a usability and testability standpoint
