About The Position

CTG is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support a mission-critical Identity & Access Management (IAM) program serving U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This role will focus on developing and implementing quality assurance strategies, testing methodologies, and automation practices that ensure secure, scalable, and reliable identity solutions meet the highest standards of performance, security, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering roles
  • Experience developing and implementing quality assurance methodologies, testing strategies, and quality standards
  • Experience performing code reviews and product reviews throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Experience creating, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test plans and test cases
  • Experience identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking software defects
  • Experience supporting Agile software development teams
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise software systems
  • Familiarity with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, and modern web application architectures
  • Experience with testing and quality tools such as Selenium, Cypress, SonarQube, Checkmarx, JMeter, Cucumber, or similar technologies
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • MUST BE US Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, authorization, or single sign-on (SSO) platforms
  • Experience testing systems utilizing SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or related identity protocols
  • Experience testing cloud-native applications deployed within AWS environments
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated quality gates
  • Experience supporting federal government agencies
  • Certified Software Tester (CSTE), ISTQB, 508 Certified Tester, or similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control methodologies, processes, and testing frameworks
  • Establish and promote standards for software development lifecycles, testing practices, documentation, and maintenance activities
  • Perform code and product reviews throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test strategies across multiple applications and services
  • Identify, document, triage, and track software defects through resolution
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the SDLC
  • Evaluate software quality tools, testing frameworks, and industry best practices, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Support testing efforts across multiple Agile delivery teams and coordinate cross-team testing dependencies
  • Validate application functionality, performance, reliability, and security requirements
  • Contribute to CI/CD testing practices and help ensure code is validated in non-production environments prior to release
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), release validation, and production deployment activities
