About The Position

Leidos is seeking a talented Software Test Engineer to work in their Huntsville office. This position focuses on testing software for Tactical strike guided munition programs. The role involves automated testing, development of robust software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products include analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems. The position requires direct participation as an integral team member in test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality. It also involves reviewing and generating engineering and testing documents, learning from senior test engineers, and frequent communication with software developers and other team members.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience with BS degree.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • Proven experience performing software test on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience implementing with software test automation.
  • Ability in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.
  • Great communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.
  • Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C and/or DO-278, MIL-STD-882e, RMF).
  • The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams.
  • Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application.
  • Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.
  • Experience testing guidance & control algorithms, navigation systems, mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS), and sensors.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
  • Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles.

Responsibilities
