About The Position

Delta Solutions and Strategies is hiring a full-time Software Test Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role tests custom software and software integrations, works with development teams and external stakeholders to address defects and validate requirements, and coordinates software-related demonstrations, operational tests, and inspections. The position also contributes to improved testing methodologies and procedures and includes on-site testing at classified government facilities.

Requirements

• Secret security clearance required, with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• At least 3 years of experience as a software test engineer or software quality assurance specialist.
• Experience testing containerized software.
• Aptitude for testing software on multiple platforms and knowledge of industry-standard procedures and tools.
• Knowledge of computer architecture and tools for manual, unit, integration, and functional testing, as well as bug-tracking systems, specifically Jira.
• Background in missile warning or missile defense and familiarity with ITW/AA-related software applications such as PDS-M and C2BMC.
• Ability to read and write technical documents.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Familiarity with CCIC2S.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to resolve software defects, troubleshoot issues, and streamline debugging.
• Conduct functional, regression, ad hoc, and acceptance testing of custom software.
• Conduct software integration testing with external software, including PDS-M and MARS.
• Coordinate, schedule, and lead software-related events, including demonstrations, operational tests, and inspections; provide documentation, communication, and follow-up to support event objectives and stakeholder engagement.
• Perform root cause analysis of defects and document their causes and solutions.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to clarify software requirements and translate them into test cases and procedures.
• Execute comprehensive software testing to verify that requirements are met.
• Contribute to improving software testing methodologies and develop standard operating procedures as needed.
• Perform on-site testing at classified government facilities.
