About The Position

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer with experience in Life Sciences domain knowledge. This role requires the candidate to be present in the lab 5 days a week to work on instruments, specifically within a Next Generation Sequencing platform software or similar instrument/embedded systems software testing environment. The position is a C2C contract role located in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript/Typescript, Groovy or Python.
• Proficiency in linux shell scripting.
• Knowledge of popular test automation frameworks, particularly Playwright + TypeScript.
• Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with API testing and understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with version control systems like Git for managing test scripts and collaborating with other team members.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and experience with Jenkins.
• Ability to design effective and efficient test cases covering different scenarios and edge cases.
• Understanding of test data management.
• Familiarity with Test Management tools such as Jama/HPALM.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, troubleshoot failures, and debug automation scripts.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities
