Medtronic Acute Care and Monitoring is seeking Software Test Engineer to support Digital Health Home product quality and related remote patient monitoring solutions. This role will support manual testing, exploratory testing, automation development, regression execution, defect validation, release readiness, and QA process improvement in an Agile and regulated product environment. The engineer will create and maintain test cases, execute manual and automated tests, document defects, support release validation, and collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps, and other QA team members. The role will also contribute to QA modernization efforts, automation growth, traceability improvements, and shift left testing practices. The ideal candidate has strong QA fundamentals, hands on test automation experience, clear communication skills, and the ability to work independently in Agile teams while supporting both current release testing and longer-term process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field with relevant software QA experience
  • Eligibility for a Security Clearance with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • At least 3 years experience with Software QA/testing, creating and executing test cases
  • At least 3 years experience with Agile/Scrum and Jira
  • At least 3 years experience with Test automation tools such as Katalon, Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • At least 3 years experience with Test management tools such as Polarion, Helix, ALM, Zephyr, or similar.
  • GitLab or CI/CD pipeline awareness.
  • API testing experience.
  • JMeter or performance testing exposure.
  • QA metrics, dashboards, and traceability reporting.
  • Strong defect documentation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate QA status, risks, blockers, and release readiness clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, remote patient monitoring, or regulated software environments.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual, automation, exploratory, regression, integration, and release validation testing.
  • Create and maintain test cases based on requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and defects.
  • Build, maintain, and execute automated tests using Katalon Studio or similar tools.
  • Identify automation candidates and expand automation coverage for high value regression scenarios.
  • Log, track, retest, and close defects in Jira with clear documentation and evidence.
  • Support test case traceability from requirements/stories to test cases, executions, and defects.
  • Use QA KPI dashboards to communicate execution progress, pass/fail status, automation coverage, defects, blockers, and release risk.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide early QA input during grooming, planning, and story review.
  • Support release readiness, production validation, RCA follow-up, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide backup QA support for secondary products to improve coverage and business continuity.
