About The Position

Arcfield is seeking a Senior Software and Systems Integration Engineer to provide expert-level Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for critical national security systems. The role ensures that mission-critical information—including mission data, ephemeris, and ancillary data—moves securely and efficiently across the ground enterprise. As a senior technical advisor at the intersection of software, data, networking, and systems engineering, you will help Government stakeholders understand how mission data is produced, exchanged, received, and consumed across interconnected systems. You will work across programs and organizations to identify dependencies, evaluate proposed architectural changes, and ensure mission data remains accurate, timely, interoperable, and highly available as interfaces evolve. The role calls for technical understanding of ephemeris and ancillary mission data, along with expertise in network connectivity, system interfaces, and requirements management.

Requirements

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10–12 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 8–10 years; or a PhD with 5–7 years; equivalent relevant professional experience is also accepted.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ephemeris, ancillary data, or comparable mission-critical space/ground data products.
  • Significant experience with software-intensive mission systems and mission data architectures, including analysis of network connectivity, data flows, and system dependencies.
  • Proven track record of developing, evaluating, and documenting technical requirements and interface control documents.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills, with the ability to provide independent, objective technical recommendations in a Government SETA environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community space and ground systems.
  • Deep understanding of orbital or mission planning data and associated ground processing systems.
  • Familiarity with modern software architectures, APIs, cloud environments, DevSecOps, or automated data services.
  • Prior experience managing transition and modernization efforts for legacy data infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for ephemeris, ancillary data, and associated mission data services; advise Government stakeholders on technical risks, dependencies, and courses of action.
  • Map and analyze end-to-end mission data flows—including generation, transport, interfaces, receipt, processing, and consumption—to identify bottlenecks and technical constraints.
  • Evaluate network connectivity and system interfaces that support mission-critical data exchanges, ensuring integration between upstream and downstream systems.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain technical requirements; support Requests for Change, engineering changes, interface modifications, and configuration management activities.
  • Lead root-cause analysis of complex data exchange issues and evaluate how software, network, or architecture changes affect the broader mission ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with software developers, network and systems engineers, mission operators, and external program stakeholders through technical reviews, integration events, test activities, and engineering decision forums.
  • Develop technical assessments and strategic recommendations to support transitions from legacy data exchanges to modernized services and architectures.
