About The Position

Allegion is seeking a motivated Software Systems Engineering Intern to work on software that enables IoT-connected security hardware. The intern will gain exposure to interconnected systems spanning Android and iOS mobile applications, cloud services, and IoT hardware, as well as AWS/Azure infrastructure, DevOps, and related development tools and technologies. The position is based in Golden, Colorado, and offers hands-on experience on real projects, collaboration with product development engineers, and opportunities to build skills and relationships that support future growth at Allegion.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Allegion does not intend to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrate resiliency and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Be able to work independently and as a team player.
• Have effective listening, time-management, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Have a desire to learn, grow, and develop through projects that affect Allegion’s business and customers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development discussions and help implement solutions on real projects.
• Work with cross-functional product development engineers to produce well-rounded solutions.
• Elicit, analyze, and define software requirements for software development.
• Contribute to interface control documents (ICDs) for next-generation Allegion devices connecting to Allegion’s IoT platform.
• Help improve Allegion’s software systems engineering processes.
