About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, with a general knowledge of related fields and application implications. As a Software Systems Engineer, you will provide in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, ensuring seamless integration and user support. You will also assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, maintaining currency and configuring related software products. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology.
  • Experience in web component applications, XML, including schema definitions & generation (XSD), relational databases, and serving as a Webmaster.
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority, demonstrating expertise in software systems engineering.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship and a Secret clearance are required

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized expertise within multiple systems and software disciplines, offering technical support and problem resolution.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and support for systems software products, including design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
  • Assist in planning and conversion for new hardware/software products, ensuring smooth transitions and upgrades.
  • Maintain currency, debug, and configure related software products to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades.
  • Develop or modify operating systems applications based on specifications, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
  • Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve overall efficiency of the operating system.
  • Prepare comprehensive product documentation to support system operations and user understanding.
  • Interface with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems, ensuring solutions meet their needs.
