About The Position

Internship conversion position for the Software Implementation and Integration Department (SIID) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be full-time, 100% onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA. Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers. The Software Implementation and Integration Department (SIID) and do cool work in a growing industry! Utilize latest software technologies and understanding of software architecture to support work on space systems for our customers in Space Force, Air Force, NASA, and other federal and commercial industries.

Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited college/university program in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
0-1 year of industry work experience
Ability to lead tasks and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
Strong software engineering life-cycle experience and problem-solving skills.
Experience in at least one of the following areas: DODAF and generation of related models and dashboards
Data lakes and data pipelining
Model-based systems engineering and complex systems modeling
AI/ML (LLM, Neural Network, NLP, etc.)
Alternative software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
Willing to travel occasionally.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Providing software systems engineering skills to space, ground, and launch systems in the national security, civil, and commercial domains.
Leveraging a wide range of technical skills to solve complex problems in various software systems domains such as software development; software architectures; enterprise systems; technology recommendations; cloud and virtualization deployments; microservices and API development; and systems modeling.
Identifying exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.
Driving positive change by introducing new perspectives, challenging established practices, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team
Collaborating with teams across the corporation to develop cross-domain space solutions.
Operate strategically through engaging with customers in leveraging the latest technology that provides innovative solutions to their challenging problems in the space arena.
