About The Position

We are currently seeking: A software systems coordinator to join the finance team and perform routine and complex administrative, technical, and analytical work in the support of the City of San Angelo's various software and operational systems. This full-time position will assist City Finance Department in administering COSA software and in carrying out special projects by providing a variety of training, technical, and analytical functions related to its application. The Software Systems Coordinator assists in the implementation and administration of the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system and other systems owned by the City of San Angelo. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the management of COSA's various software and operational systems, including budgeting, purchasing, and payment requirements. Ensuring efficient maintenance and operation of financial systems, to provide optimum functionality, and to ensure data integrity and security. Working with internal Departments and external partners in the configuration, implementation, training, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software systems. Ensuring the various software and operational systems meet the requirements of City departments. Performing a wide variety of research, administrative, and analytical duties in support of functions, operations, and program areas related to software applications. Performing duties in support of various administrative operations and activities within assigned area of responsibility including financial platforms, human resources, community development, and other related modules as well as analysis of assets and infrastructure, special projects, research studies, and other specialized functions. Preparing and submit various reports to multiple internal departments. Assisting with routine and complex internal inquiries related to software and related functions. Providing training to users and administrators of systems and ensure quality assurance and quality controls are maintained. Following written and oral instructions, departmental policies, rules, regulations, and laws. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Regular and timely attendance is required. Requirements

  • Use of standard reporting tools to write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries for individual and citywide use.
  • Use of a variety of spreadsheet, analytical and other computer software for testing analysis and preparation of reports for management as requested.
  • Extracting data and analyzing reports.
  • Word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Organizing and prioritizing own work activity.
  • Efficiently accomplishing assigned tasks and projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Troubleshooting, and critiques of systems and processes.
  • Ability to maintain the absolute confidentiality of sensitive files, data, and materials accessed, discussed or observed while working with City staff.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to make connections citywide.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, preferably including coursework in information technology.
  • One year of governmental accounting work, or related experience.
  • One or more years of financial information systems project management and implementation experience, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of COSA Finance department policy and procedures.
  • A valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record is required.
  • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
