About The Position

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join its Data Science and Data Analysis team at its Westborough, Massachusetts head office. The role contributes to software products used to solve complex issues and improve performance in the Battery Energy Storage System industry. The engineer will work with developers from diverse backgrounds and have opportunities to work with different technologies in a growing team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles, such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Experience with Python-based software development and testing.
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Pytest, Zephyr, or Selenium.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency with automation testing tools.
• Experience with Agile development workflows and Scrum methodology.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Experience with cloud-based applications and services, preferably AWS, and understanding of cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake, including validation of data pipelines, data quality, and application integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• User-level experience with Jira.
• Ability to manage testing activities across multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality and meeting delivery timelines.
• Experience testing data-intensive applications, APIs, backend services, and web applications.
• Ability to prioritize defects and testing activities according to business impact and risk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications in software testing, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Familiarity with or experience in the BESS industry.
• Familiarity with microservices infrastructure in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Work with developers to deliver high-quality software products.
• Design, develop, and maintain testing strategies and plans for software applications used in grid-scale energy storage systems.
• Test and validate software updates, patches, and new features for compatibility and functionality.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios to verify software quality and performance requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on coding standards, best practices, and software design.
• Document test results, defects, and issues clearly and concisely.
