About The Position

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a creative, talented, up and coming software professional who is eager to learn, enjoys challenges, and is looking to jump-start their career in Software QA. We develop state-of-the-art Warehouse Management Software. We are seeking future Software QA Testers with a background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT to join us for their internship to gain real-world experience. Exacta is our proprietary software created in-house at Toyota Automated Logistics. Our Co-ops begin in the QA department doing manual integrated testing for existing, modified, or custom software to be implemented for our clients. Testing the software will provide an introduction to our software and help you learn its functionality and purpose. You will have exposure to technical tools including MS Visual Studio/Team Foundation Server, MS Office, Hyper-V or VMware, Windows Server, and Oracle.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long-term without sponsorship.
  • In pursuit of their Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Classroom work or independent experience using Microsoft SQL.
  • Classroom work or independent experience testing software.
  • Eager to learn new languages. Interest in learning SQL Server.
  • Strong quality control and computer skills including ability to learn how to manually deploy and test software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Please note this role is not offered completely remote as our company has adopted a hybrid work model (work in office and work from home) and will require interns to be in Louisville, KY or surrounding areas for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete software validation, ensuring that all software modules meet functional specifications, design documents, and end-user requirements.
  • Understand the bug tracking process throughout our development cycle; demonstrate attention to detail in identifying issues with the Exacta product enhancement.
  • Ability to look through logs to distinguish where the issue may be.
  • Dive into issues to understand the true root cause, and then work with senior-level quality assurance team members to fix any bugs in the software.
  • Design and execute test plans; communicate bugs and work with other team members to close the loop on open issues.
