About The Position

The Software QA Analyst implements and oversees software testing, including the design, implementation, execution, and debugging of test processes. The role works with Development, Product, and Technical Service teams to influence product testability, research and implement test methodologies, and identify, document, and execute test plans and cases. This position is based at the company’s Albuquerque, New Mexico headquarters. Candidates residing within 100 miles of Albuquerque are considered for 100% in-office positions; candidates residing outside that area are considered for fully remote positions in their home state or country. The position is open to global applicants, although the special applicant note states that candidates must currently reside in New Mexico. The role may involve up to 5% travel for the annual company meeting. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment, with no or limited physical effort and no or limited exposure to physical risk.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Authorization to work in the United States; the employer does not sponsor work visas.
Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and tasks.
Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Proficiency with common business and office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge of databases and database query languages such as SQL.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various areas of the organization.

Nice To Haves

Solid understanding of QA testing methodologies and practices.
Prior education or professional experience in Life Sciences is strongly preferred.
Preference is given to applicants currently living in New Mexico.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Development and Product teams during product design to assist with requirements review.
Design and execute manual tests to ensure software applications operate and perform properly.
Participate in process review sessions and Software Quality Assurance meetings to improve SQA and testing processes and strategies.
Design, develop, and implement test plans and test cases for new and enhanced software releases.
Perform validation and verification, including functional, regression, load, and system testing, to ensure software meets or exceeds standards and end-user requirements.
Ensure explicit and implicit requirements are met during testing.
Document test runs and results for each product.
Identify and log defects and issues, provide detailed explanations in the tracking system, and ensure escalation to appropriate issue owners.
Use tools including SQL, project management tools, and build tools to assist with project completion.
Access and handle electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) appropriately in accordance with policy and HIPAA.
