As an intern, you will work on real, open-ended problems that directly contribute to the success of the company. You will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills through high-impact projects. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly. Software internships are available across the company within different teams such as Boltline, Vehicle Software, and Data. Please note: these roles require you to work onsite at our Kent location.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a similar STEM field
  • Project-level experience with Python, C, or Rust
  • Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on engineering experience through internships, personal projects, work, or teams
  • Ability to manage a complex technical project and take it through execution
  • Ability to learn and apply state of the art techniques to technical projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to work full-time, onsite for a minimum of 10-12 consecutive weeks
  • Proficient in JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience in front-end or back-end software development
  • Proficient in Rust or other systems languages (C/C++)
  • Experience with real-time systems
  • Excited by fast-paced, critical software operations
  • Proficient in Rust
  • Experience in front-end or back-end software development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in 1 or more of the technologies utilized in our tech stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Apollo, Express.js, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS
  • Affinity for full-stack software development
  • Experience in embedded devices or autonomous systems
  • Experience with OS and kernel level work
  • Experience in 1 or more of the technologies utilized in our tech stack: AWS, Time Series Data, Svelte, WebGPU
  • Affinity for full-stack software development

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment, in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.
  • Own a chunk of software you take from design to running on the test stand in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.
  • Convert mountains of real-time and post-launch data into analysis and insights that will help Stoke more effectively design and operate our launch products.
